Europa fundraising goes sky high

Taking to the air on 25th May, one daring Europa employee will be sky-diving to raise money for charity. Mitch Clarke, Branch Manager at Europa Road’s (European road freight) Northampton branch, will be taking on the challenge hoping to raise as much money as possible.

The jump, which is taking place in Langar at the Leicestershire Nottinghamshire border, is in aid of the Alzheimer’s Society, which campaigns for change, fund research and support people living with dementia in the UK.

Mitch, who lives in Leicestershire, said: “Inspired by my fellow staff members charity events, such as Dartford based Operations Manager Luke Cole who ran the 2019 Virgin London Marathon, I decided to take it one step further, and jump out of a plane!

“This fundraising initiative feels especially worthwhile because I know whatever I raise, Europa will match fund it. With their support I’m confident I’ll be able to make a worthy donation for my chosen charity.”

Mitch has just started fundraising, and hopes to raise £900. To donate to his cause, visit the JustGiving page here: – www.justgiving.com/fundraising/mitch-clarke1

Europa is giving its full backing to Mitch for his charitable endeavour. To celebrate its 50th anniversary two years ago the company launched a 50:50 scheme – creating a promise to match fund the cash employees raise for charity, up to the value of £500.

Carl Potter, HR & Facilities Director at Europa, said: “As a company it’s so important to us that we ensure staff feel supported and motivated to participate in fundraising.

“The 50:50 campaign is therefore a terrific means of backing up their efforts. The work our employees have done so far for charities has truly been remarkable. Since 50:50 started in 2017 we’ve already raised more than £17,000.”
