Entries now open for the 2019 Deloitte UK Technology Fast 50 awards

Entries are now open for the 22nd annual Deloitte UK Technology Fast 50 awards.

The awards rank and recognise the 50 fastest growing technology companies in the UK, based on the last four years of revenue growth. Supporting Deloitte’s initiative for the UK’s fastest growing companies are the award sponsors DLA Piper, Oracle NetSuite and Silicon Valley Bank.

Since 1998, the Deloitte Technology Fast 50 awards have showcased an increasingly innovative and diverse range of UK-based technology companies. Last year’s Fast 50 companies generated cumulative revenues of £1.2bn in 2017/18, an impressive average growth rate of 2,176% and employed more than 9,000 people in the UK.

Duncan Down, lead partner for the Deloitte UK Technology Fast 50 programme commented: “The UK’s start-up scene is thriving, sparking new opportunities for entrepreneurs, employees and businesses across the country. The Fast 50 awards give us the opportunity to acknowledge the growth that UK start-ups are experiencing, and the contributions they are making to the economy.

“It’s a pleasure and a privilege to showcase the talent of the teams and the brains behind brands entering the UK market with these awards, and we look forward to viewing this year’s entries and celebrating their success.”

Riding to victory – Deliveroo
For the second-year in a row, Deliveroo topped Deloitte’s UK Technology Fast 50 awards. The food courier service was the first company in the 21-year history of the Fast 50 to win twice, reporting an average three-year growth rate of 15,749% to the year 2017/18.

Dan Warne, Deliveroo Managing Director in UK and Ireland, commented:
“The Fast 50 awards are famed for showcasing the vibrancy and dynamism of the British technology scene, and we are delighted to have topped these rankings not once but twice. The UK’s tech sector continues to grow at pace with more and more start-ups seeking to build, grow and disrupt, and these awards act as a barometer to measure their success.

“Since receiving our awards, Deliveroo has continued on its mission to deliver for our riders, restaurants and customers and is proud to export our British built technology around the globe.”

The Deloitte UK Technology Fast 50 is one of the UK’s foremost technology award programmes. Now in its 22nd year, it is a ranking of the country’s 50 fastest-growing technology companies, based on revenue growth over the last four years.

The UK Fast 50 awards are all about growth driven by leading intellectual property and are a celebration of innovation and entrepreneurship.

The UK Technology Fast 50 is part of an international programme run by Deloitte and qualifying entrants of the UK Fast 50 will be put forward to the Deloitte Technology Fast 500 EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) programme.

Previous winners have come from across the UK, are both large and small, and have included some of the most dynamic players in all areas of technology, from internet specialists to biotech, digital media technology and telecommunications.

Help us maintain our standards of journalism

Readers across the region enjoy our news site but keeping our news up to date and authoritative, without charging readers to view the site is a challenge. Especially now with the Corona Virus measures affecting us all, as many clients have been severely affected and are naturally reducing their spend on advertisements. Given this lack of revenue stream we are calling on the generosity of our readers to help us fill that void and enable our journalists to continue delivering the news that you enjoy.

Unlike many other news sites, we don't have annoying pop ups or charge scandalous prices for events. We also produce printed magazines for each title and we make these freely available to read on line too, for your enjoyment. Often, people have asked why we don't make a charge for viewers to read these magazines and news stories but we feel that would adversely affect our readership/advertisers response rate. But with advertising revenues now severely affected we need your help. So, if you can support our news sites/magazines with either a small donation of even £1, or a subscription to our magazine, which costs from just £33.60 per year, (inc p&P and mailed direct to your door) your generosity will help us weather the current storm and continue in our quest to deliver quality journalism.

We value your readership and your support, as this enables us to continue to provide our regular daily news updates. We've been established over 30 years, during which we've lost count of the numerous recessions and financial meltdowns, and we intend to weather the storms caused by Covid-19.
