Recent plans have been released for a new Jaguar Land Rover car showroom and workshop in Derby at the Cattle Market Site.

A statement in the plans of the project stated its intentions for “redevelopment of the former cattle market to new Jaguar Land Rover Motor Dealership, providing sales and servicing, repair, MOT facilities, wash and valet, vehicle preparation and external car display.”

Taylor Design Architects submitted the proposal on behalf of Inchape Estates for the 6,091m2 floor space.

A further statement read: “The design of this prestigious new dealership will combine the premium motor vehicle brands of Jaguar and Land Rover to create a brand new dealership for the Derby area; providing Derby with high quality technical employment opportunities, as well as apprenticeship and training roles for school and college leavers.”

Overall the site is thought to employ 230 staff, with JLR being the majority with 128 staff. Some of these will be employees transferring from the existing dealerships, but will be a 45% increase in employment numbers.
