Build-to-rent (BTR) specialist Wise Living has announced the appointment of a new development director as it continues to accelerate plans to build and manage thousands of quality new rental homes for families across the country.
Andy Pass joins the company with 22-years’ experience in the construction industry, having taken the lead on a number of high-profile projects, encompassing industrial, commercial, residential and educational property. His career to date includes stints with contractors and consultants, such as Turner & Townsend, as well as private and public sector bodies, including the Department for Education.
In his new role at Wise Living, Andy will not only ensure that new homes are delivered on current sites in Birkenhead, Telford, Mansfield and Coventry, but he will also be widening the reach of the business across the UK, building relationships with regional developers and housebuilders.
Commenting on his appointment, Andy said: “The role at Wise Living is an exciting prospect. I’ve always been attracted to organisations that have real values, purpose and work ethic. Wise Living has all of those things and a very clear ambition – to create over 2,000 purpose-built family homes in the next three-years. Everything is in place to do that and my job is to make sure we deliver.
“We all know that the private rental sector (PRS) is underserved in the UK and there’s a real need to provide decent homes and great places to live. I’m looking forward to getting out there and helping to raise the profile and understanding of PRS with key stakeholders and land agents.”
Wise Living, which is the build-to-rent division of the SDL Group, recently secured a further £33 million round of funding from real estate investors ICG-Longbow. For Andy Deller, director at Wise Living, this, coupled with the appointment of Andy Pass, is a pivotal moment in the company’s growth:
“When we received this new funding, we made it clear that our focus is on working with more developers to derisk their schemes and deliver the rental homes that families across the UK really need. It’s clear that Andy is the right person to lead on this for us.
