Stepnell grows Nottingham team with new bid manager

Construction contractor Stepnell has boosted its Nottingham business by appointing Christian White as bid manager.

A key member of the region’s work-winning team, Christian – who lives in Sutton-in-Ashfield, Nottinghamshire – will lead on the preparation of bids for new construction projects as the firm targets continued growth across the Nottingham and Derby area.

He brings extensive experience of delivering pre-construction services, managing the extensive process – including budgeting, project planning, feasibility, value engineering and risk management – which takes place before a construction project starts on site.

Christian joins Stepnell from Interserve Construction where he was pre-construction manager and also previously held the same role with Derby-based G F Tomlinson Building Ltd, successfully tendering projects valued up to £20 million across a range of sectors. He is a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute of Building.

Stepnell Regional Director Thomas Sewell says: “We’re excited to welcome Christian to our senior management team in Nottingham. Possessing impressive commercial and technical skills, he is committed to working collaboratively with clients to help them realise their vision and achieve outstanding buildings which provide best value over the long term. His in-depth knowledge of the East Midlands market will also be invaluable as we continue to expand across the region.” Stepnell is based locally at the Eldon Business Park, Beeston.

Christian says: “I’m extremely pleased to be joining Stepnell and look forward to working with the team to make the most of the exciting opportunities available locally, building on the solid foundations which the business has already established to deliver further planned growth.”

Major construction schemes by Stepnell in the East Midlands currently include a £9.1 million new headquarters for Nottingham Trent University’s Confetti Institute of Creative Technologies and a £21 million extension for the University of Leicester’s Students’ Union building.
