Recruitment firm expands with engineering team

Recruitment firm, SF Recruitment, has invested in a specialised engineering recruitment team, spearheaded by two new experienced members.

Mark McGowan and Alex Kent have both joined the team from Optima, bringing more than a decade of experience to the firm. The new roles form part of SF Recruitment’s business transformation plan.

Leading the charge will be Divisional Manager, Mark McGowan, who will utilise his seven years of recruitment experience in the sector to drive SF Recruitment’s development within engineering. Prior to working in recruitment, Mark was a trained sheet metal worker and fabricator welder, meaning he brings technical expertise to ensure the right people are hired.

Also joining the team will be recruitment consultant, Alex Kent, who brings extensive experience in hiring talent across the engineering sector, including welders, fabricators, CNC machinists and maintenance engineers.

Mark said: “I’m looking forward to leading the engineering talent team. With my industry experience both as a welder and recruiter, I am well placed to ensure the best engineering talent is positioned in the right roles.”

Saira Demmer, CEO at SF Recruitment, said: “Welcoming a brand-new engineering team to the business is another statement of our post-pandemic intent to continue our growth. We have already made significant investment into our working environment and employee experience, and the high calibre of new recruits we are now welcoming is a strong indication that our people-first approach is truly working.

“Our aim is to create a modern working culture, which puts autonomy in the hands of all of our experienced team. This latest investment will mean engineering companies can entrust a team which lives and breathes the industry, ensuring we create the perfect fit between an individual and organisation.”
