Louise Lenton has been appointed the new Acas Area Director for East Midlands. She has been with Acas since 2015 and has significant experience in handling high-profile collective disputes, for example most recently the Lincoln Council’s Health Visitors strike.
Since joining Acas, Louise has used her experience in resolving disputes and conflict, drawing on her five years working for the East Midlands Job Centre, which included overseeing the move into the integrated government services building into the £12million Hinckley Hub.
Louise said: “I am delighted to be appointed as Area Director for the East Midlands. As one of the fastest growing regions in the UK and home to one of our main call centres, it is one of Acas’ busiest areas. In 2019, we dealt with over 40,000 individual conciliation cases and over 55,000 calls to the helpline as well as hosting nearly 4,000 delegates who attended Acas training in the East Midlands.
“My aim is to continue to deliver Acas’ workplace expertise to businesses and employees in our region. Our services range from resolving the most difficult conflicts to promoting positive mental health at work and advice on how businesses can be more productive.
“I want to make good work a reality for all in the East Midlands and we have been working with Nottingham Trent University, the Mayor of Leicester and the Gangmasters and Labour Abuse Authority to help make it happen.”
