New Chief Executive for Hinckley & Rugby BS

Colin Fyfe

Hinckley & Rugby Building Society has appointed Colin Fyfe as its new Chief Executive. He will succeed Chris White who is retiring in early 2019 after 30 years at the society.

Fyfe has vast experience having worked at Clydesdale Bank, National Australia Bank and Yorkshire Bank and most recently as Chief Executive at Darlington Building Society, a post which he has held for four years.

Hinckley & Rugby Chairman Colin Franklin says: “We are confident Colin has the vision, skills and experience to build on the very successful tenure of Chris White who has led the society for more than a decade, including through the challenging period of the credit crunch and its aftermath.”

Commenting on the news, Fyfe says: “I am delighted to have been selected by Hinckley & Rugby Building Society’s board to lead the business into its next phase.

“The foundations created by Chris White and the team are strong and it will be an honour to serve the members and support the local communities.”

White joined Hinckley & Rugby in 1989 and became financial director in 1993 before being appointed chief executive in 2007.

White adds: “It has been an honour and a privilege to have had the opportunity to serve the society as Chief Executive. I am delighted that the board has appointed Colin as my successor.

“I am confident that he shares the board’s vision of what makes a great building society and will continue to ensure that the society’s members remain at the heart of its business strategy.”
