Chartered accountants Newby Castleman has promoted three staff who joined the business as trainees to senior roles.
Michael Frost and Caroline Walpole have been appointed to the role of audit supervisor, whilst Sam Faux becomes a manager.
Frost started at Newby Castleman as a trainee in September 2011, after graduating from the University of Leicester with a degree in Economics and Law. He has progressed through the ranks to the position of audit supervisor, having qualified as a chartered accountant in December 2014.
He said: “I am delighted to have been appointed to the position of Audit Supervisor. I am really looking forward to taking on more responsibility which will mean I oversee and assist colleagues on audit assignments”.
Walpole has a similar background to Frost. She began work as an audit junior at Newby Castleman in 2012 and has progressed through the ranks, earning an ACA accountancy qualification in the process.
She said: “My previous role was as an Audit Senior which gave me control over my own workload, so becoming an Audit Supervisor is the next step up for me. I’m looking forward to passing on my knowledge and experience to our junior staff”.
Faux’s new role, meanwhile, will see her take on broader office management responsibilities, conducting reviews of audit and non-audit files.
She has over 10 years’ accountancy experience, and joined Newby Castleman in 2010, qualifying shortly afterwards.
She said: “I am very happy to have been considered for this position and the opportunity to take on further responsibilities and assist staff in their development. I have had fantastic managers during my time at Newby Castleman who have supported me and given me opportunities. I am now looking forward to passing on the experience I have gained”.
Stephen Castleman, partner at Newby Castleman, said: “We are delighted for Michael, Caroline and Sam and would like to wish them every success in their new roles. All three are talented accountancy professionals and each of them has demonstrated, through their dedication to their work and enthusiasm for it, that they are ready for this step up.
“We have a proud tradition at Newby Castleman of promoting our management from within, and it is very encouraging that three of our team who learned their trade here will now be supervising the progression of our newest junior recruits”.
