LEP backs Leicestershire businesses by doubling its free workshops

Current LLEP Chair Nick Pulley

The LLEP Business Gateway, the Growth Hub for Leicester and Leicestershire, is doubling the number of free workshops for businesses this year, due to the strong demand.

The events will now take place twice a month in venues across the city and county, covering a wide variety of topics including marketing, business growth, access to finance, HR and recruitment and many more.

In conjunction with the LLEP Business Gateway, Passion Marketing hosted a FREE seminar called ‘What’s New in Marketing?’ this week, aiming to bring businesses up to date with current marketing trends and covered a range of topics including artificial intelligence, dark social and general data protection regulation.

Lindsey Newman-Wood, Marketing Consultant and Director of Passion Marketing said: “I’ve had a positive experience working with the LLEP Business Gateway and I’ve been working with their business advisers providing marketing information and advice to businesses. I also enjoy working with the events team and the topic of today’s event is the result of feedback from businesses wanting to keep up with the latest marketing trends.

“Marketing is moving so fast and businesses need to keep up with customer needs. Our event this morning was a fantastic opportunity to share ideas with one another and collaborate over coffee.”
Michele McDonald, Marketing and Systems Administrator at Pyrotect said, “Lindsey was very engaging and I loved the group work because we are all from completely different companies. No matter what industry you’re in there is still something you can pick up from each other during discussions.”
Nick Pulley, Chair of the LLEP said, “Businesses in Leicester and Leicestershire can take advantage of the LLEP Business Gateway’s completely free service for business advice and support. Since launching in 2014, the Growth Hub has been involved with over 160 business events and workshops. This year, we plan to host at least two free workshops per month such as ‘What’s New in Marketing’ which took place today. These events really help local business owners learn new skills and grow their companies.”
