Work has started on a new affordable housing development in Blidworth.
The £12 million scheme on Dale Lane will deliver 62 homes, including a mix of 1, 2 and 3-bedroom houses and bungalows, available through affordable rent and shared ownership.
Tune Homes has been appointed as the principal contractor, and NCHA will own and manage all homes once complete.
All homes will achieve EPC A ratings, thanks to a fabric-first approach and features such as solar PV panels and air source heat pumps. This means lower energy bills for residents and reduced carbon emissions, supporting NCHA’s commitment to sustainability.
Claudine Edwards, new business and development manager at NCHA, said: “We’re delighted to be working with Homes England, Newark and Sherwood District Council, and Tune Homes to deliver high-quality affordable homes for Blidworth. These homes will help meet local demand and support our wider commitment to sustainability.”
Councillor Lee Brazier, portfolio holder for housing at Newark and Sherwood District Council, added: “This is great news for Blidworth. More affordable rented housing and shared ownership options give people in the community a chance to make their first step on the property ladder.”
This development is supported by funding from Homes England, as part of NCHA’s Strategic Partnership for 2021–2028, which aims to deliver affordable housing across the East Midlands.
