The final phase of the £15 million Shirebrook Market Place: Reimagined regeneration programme is to be centred around a purpose-built, multi-use modular pavilion.
Delivered by East Yorkshire-based offsite manufacturer, Premier Modular, on behalf of Dragonfly Development, work began on the site at the end of July and is due to complete early 2026.
Chosen due to the minimised impacts on traffic, noise pollution and the wider town offered by offsite construction, the modular pavillion has been constructed at Premier Modular’s Yorkshire base and is currently being installed.
The glass-fronted unit will represent the next phase of Shirebrook, both visually and commercially. The space will be equipped with modern public toilets and will be centred within upgraded landscaping, including new lighting and street furniture, cycle stands and bollards. Green landscaping and tree planting will complete the development, supporting the regeneration’s wider focus on boosting local biodiversity.
The facilities will act as the central hub for the future of Shirebrook and its residents. Funded by both the Government’s Regeneration Fund and the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, the £2 million investment will provide the community and businesses with a modern facility that has been designed to accommodate a range of events and uses.
David Harris, CEO of Premier Modular, said: “Our mission is to support communities with contemporary and sustainable buildings that are both delivered at pace and align with our client’s future goals; that is exactly what we are able to do with the Market Place Pavillion.
“Utilising offsite methods of construction has helped to reduce the impact on Shirebrook and its residents, and it something we are particularly proud of at Premier Modular. We look forward to the completion of the Pavillion and seeing the long-term benefits it will bring to the town.”
Jack Snowdon, operations manager at Dragonfly Development, said: “The Market Place Pavillion sits at the centre of Shirebrook’s regeneration and by opting for a modular solution, we’ve been able to bring something different to the town, without the disruption normally associated with construction projects.
“Designed to be a flexible, multi-use space, we hope to see it become a hub for local business and communities alike.”
