Housebuilder launches festive initiative to support Daventry community

Spitfire Homes has launched a festive initiative to bring the Daventry community together in the run up to Christmas, combining donations, fundraising activities and collaborations with independent businesses.

Throughout the first 12 days of December, the homebuilder is donating books, toys and essential winter items to support families, children and vulnerable individuals.

Supported by a range of local businesses, including Suddenly on Sheaf Street book store, Basket & Bunches Florists and Ten Hands Bakehouse, Spitfire is also giving away local experiences, festive gifts and seasonal items for the community to enjoy.

Joanna, store manager at Suddenly on Sheaf Street, said: “We are excited to be part of the first Spitfire Advent Calendar initiative this year. As an independent bookshop, community is at the heart of what we do, and we’re thrilled to be a part of this thriving town.

“We’re looking forward to welcoming new people into Suddenly on Sheaf Street, share the joy of reading and spread the importance of shopping local this Christmas. We can’t wait to share a little festive cheer throughout the community with the support of Spitfire Homes.”

As part of the festive initiative, Spitfire is supporting Northampton Hope, a local charity dedicated to helping older people across Northamptonshire. The charity provides practical home help, social activities, specialist services, and advice, enabling older adults to stay independent, connected and supported in their community.

Matt Vincent, operations director at Spitfire Homes, added: “Spitfire Homes is proud to be part of the growing community in Daventry which is home to a wide range of small businesses and local organisations that make the area what it is.

“Our new festive community initiative builds on the success of our Gold Card scheme but takes it a step further by offering a more personal touch at a time of year that can be difficult for many. This is something we’ve never done before and it is designed to benefit the whole community, not just those living in our new homes at Malabar.

“By supporting local businesses, charities and community groups, we want to help ensure everyone feels valued and included this festive season. We are very excited to start the initiative and encourage the whole Daventry community to follow along and get involved.”

Launching on Monday 1st December, Spitfire’s festive community initiative is free to enter and open to everyone in Daventry. The Advent Calendar is also being shared at other locations across the Midlands, supporting more than 16 independent local businesses along the way.
