DMU and Mattioli Woods form new skills partnership

De Montfort University Leicester has agreed a strategic partnership with wealth management firm Mattioli Woods to expand skills development and industry collaboration in the city. The move brings together academic expertise and private-sector demand across finance, law, data, and business.

DMU Vice-Chancellor Professor Katie Normington highlighted the significance of the collaboration for the city and the region. She said: “Mattioli Woods and DMU have a shared interest in supporting people and an understanding of what it means to be an anchor business in the city.

“This agreement signals a new phase for the university in the way in which it seeks to work with our partners, one of co creation and shared values. I am excited about the opportunities that it will create for our students in preparing them for a world of work which is changing all the time.”

The partnership includes co-developed course modules, support for applied research and participation in Knowledge Transfer Partnerships. Plans also cover the establishment of the Mattioli Woods Academy to build clearer routes from study to employment.

Internships, mentoring schemes, and scholarships will form part of the talent pipeline alongside joint work on continuing professional development, consultancy projects, and community initiatives.

The agreement was signed at Mattioli Woods’ Leicester headquarters, where around 400 of the firm’s 1,400 employees are based. Senior leads from both organisations will continue to oversee the rollout.
