Ruddocks secures B Corp certification

Ruddocks has been formally certified as a B Corporation, joining a global network of businesses that meet independently verified standards for social and environmental performance. The Lincoln-based print and communications firm scored 97.8 in the B Impact Assessment, surpassing the 80-point threshold required for certification.

Paul Banton, Managing Director of Ruddocks, said, “Becoming a Certified B Corp is a huge moment for us, and for me personally. When I first discovered the B Corp movement, I remember thinking how closely it reflected the way we already ran our business. This certification is both a recognition of everything our team has built and a commitment to keep doing business as a force for good, for our people, our clients, our community, and our planet.”

The accreditation assesses how an organisation operates across governance, workers, community impact, and environmental management. Companies undergo a multi-stage verification process led by B Lab, with reassessment every three years. Only a portion of applicants achieve certification, reflecting the rigorous nature of the evaluation.

Ruddocks, founded in 1884, is now among the oldest companies worldwide to hold B Corp status. Its long-established environmental management work, employee development initiatives, and community involvement formed part of its submission. The business has also adopted internationally recognised environmental standards in previous years.

The company plans to strengthen its ESG measurement, pursue carbon neutrality by 2030, and develop partnerships with other B Corp organisations. It also intends to align future activity with the wider B Corp movement, which continues to expand across the UK and internationally.
