Phenna Group has completed its acquisition of VetSkill Ltd, an awarding and apprenticeship assessment organisation operating across UK vocational sectors. The deal is the company’s 22nd transaction of 2025 and expands the capacity of its Food and Life Sciences division.
VetSkill will join E&J, Phenna Group’s veterinary public health certification and inspection arm. E&J oversees services that support animal welfare in abattoirs and verify that meat products meet safety standards before entering the supply chain. The business also provides export health certification for organisations trading products of animal origin.
Leslie Heaton-Smith, exiting Founder of VetSkill, commented: “By joining Phenna Group, VetSkill will be better placed to take advantage of growth opportunities, expand its market presence into new sectors and position itself for a very successful future.”
Charles Hartwell, Phenna Group’s Divisional MD for Food & Life Sciences (UK&I) and CEO of E&J, added: “I’m delighted to welcome VetSkill into the E&J family. Their strong reputation, sector expertise, and commitment to high-quality assessment aligns perfectly with our values. I’m very much looking forward to supporting Sam and the VetSkill team as we continue to grow and broaden our impact.”
The integration of VetSkill brings recognised qualification and assessment capabilities into E&J, strengthening Phenna Group’s overall offer within a regulated and expanding market.
