BRUSH to ‘Light up Loughborough’ with children’s charity collection

The headline sponsor of Loughborough’s Christmas lights switch-on is collecting donations of presents at the event for Leicestershire’s most disadvantaged children.

Loughborough-based energy engineering solutions firm BRUSH is supporting local charity Toys On The Table (TOTT) by gathering new toys and games to distribute to children across Leicester and Leicestershire who might otherwise not have anything to open on Christmas day.

‘Light up Loughborough’ takes place on Friday 28th November from 4pm and a team from BRUSH will have a stall in the Market Place to collect donations of toys and games which the charity will deliver to local children. TOTT stipulates that all donated toys and games must be new.

Employees of the company, which makes electricy grid components, have already amassed a large collection of presents for TOTT and this year decided to extend the scheme so the people of Loughborough can also show their generosity this festive season.

Nicolas Pitrat, BRUSH Group CEO, said: “We are thrilled to play our part in Loughborough’s Christmas lights switch on, especially as our famous neon sign lights up the town all year-round! As a company we are always proud to support the communities close to where we operate whether that be through sponsorship, donations, or through our staff giving up their time to support worthy causes.

“This is the third year we have supported Toys On The Table and once again my Loughborough colleagues have gone above and beyond, gathering a huge selection of toys and gifts for children of all ages. We hope our contribution will spread a little extra happiness this Christmas.”

Malcolm Clarke, chairman of Toys On The Table, said: “The need for donated toys is as high as ever and, thanks to huge support from the public and businesses such as BRUSH who get behind the appeal, children across the region who might otherwise go without, get to experience a little Christmas magic.”
