Keepmoat to deliver £20m regeneration at Alexandra Dock

Keepmoat is moving forward with a £20 million regeneration of Alexandra Dock in Grimsby after securing planning approval from North East Lincolnshire Council. The project will see the creation of 120 all-electric homes, including 54 affordable units for social rent through a local housing association.

The development is part of a wider collaboration between Keepmoat and the council to revitalise brownfield land in the town centre. Plans include landscaped public areas and space set aside for future retail use to support local economic growth.

Richard Gough, Operations Director at Keepmoat, Yorkshire East said: “We’re thrilled to secure planning to breathe new life into Alexandra Dock. This project represents a significant investment in the area and we’re looking forward to working alongside our partners to bring forward a brownfield piece of land set for regeneration.

“At Keepmoat, we are proud to build communities and transform lives. Grimsby is a fantastic location, offering a range of amenities and strong transport links.”

Keepmoat has an established presence across North East Lincolnshire, with its Cambridge Green development already delivering more than 300 homes on the former Western School site. The Alexandra Dock investment continues the company’s focus on sustainable, mixed-tenure communities designed to meet regional housing demand.

Nationally, Keepmoat ranks among the UK’s top partnership homebuilders, having delivered over 35,000 homes on regeneration-led sites. The Alexandra Dock scheme aligns with ongoing efforts to modernise housing stock and strengthen town-centre living through energy-efficient, low-carbon development.
