Acting on behalf of vendors Walker and Son, FHP has sold nearly 7 acres of land at Rock Valley just off St Peter’s Way in Mansfield to The International Church.
Being just minutes from Mansfield’s Four Seasons Shopping Centre and the town centre, the site received considerable interest, particularly from housing developers, allowing FHP to achieve a sale price at £840,000 subject to planning.
Since the departure of former occupiers “Metal Box”, a tin producing firm, the 6.87 acre valley has been stripped of all old buildings – except for the iconic Bell Tower, which has been restored and renovated and remains as a feature within the site – ready for development.
The International Church acquired the site for expansion from their 400 capacity church in Mansfield to meet the needs of their growing congregation, which has around 50 new members a month. Their planning consultant, Grace Machin, secured planning permission for a 4 storey building with capacity for a 3,000 seat auditorium and parking for 335 cars, for which they aim to raise a further £17 million to carry out. Completion is scheduled for 2018.
David Hargreaves of FHP said: “We had 10 bids for the site mainly for residential development but the highest bid subject to planning was from the international Church who were supported by Yorkshire Bank.”
FHP Property Consultants and Browne Jacobson solicitors acted on behalf of vendors Walker & Son. Solicitors Elliott Mather acted on behalf of The International Church.
