Leicester offices could be demolished to make way for five-storey student accommodation

Plans have been submitted to Leicester City Council to demolish offices close to Leicester Railway Station and build a five-storey building containing up to 122 student flats.

Applicant N & V Ltd is behind the proposal on behalf of the building’s owner.

A statement accompanying the plans stresses: “The propoals seek to produce a high-quality modern building that respects the constrains and character of the site contest and maximises the opportunities of the site.

“It will remove the unattractive units to the existing buldings which is of limited archtectural merit and is unsustainable for conversion and will provide a new benefitical building with architectural merit for the local and winder context in a highly sustainable location.”
