Natalie Harrison, a product manager at Castle Donington-based Medstrom Healthcare, has been named the Chartered Institute of Marketing Best Marketing Student 2016 by the University of Lincoln. The accolade comes hot-on-the-heels of the high achiever’s award of a first class honours degree in Marketing from the university.
Harrison joined Medstrom during the second year of her degree, undertaking a professional practice year at the healthcare solutions provider before returning to complete her course earlier this year.
She said: “I cannot explain how thankful I am to Medstrom. Working with a team that was so passionate, hardworking and customer focused was so rewarding. Having the opportunity to use the experience and knowledge that I gained from working at Medstrom in my placement year, and then put it into practice during my final year of university, is something that not a lot of people get the opportunity to do. I feel very fortunate to have had the journey I have so far and I am over the moon to have been awarded, out of such a large number of students, the ‘Chartered Institute of Marketing Best Marketing Student 2016’ award from the University of Lincoln.
“Being given the opportunities that I have had as a young professional, has not only allowed me to put my academic knowledge from university into real practice, but it helped me confirm my chosen career path and given me a passion for a specific industry”.
The award from the University of Lincoln, which is credited by the Chartered Institute of Marketing, recognises the highest achieving student of that year group and is awarded at a formal presentation on graduation day.
