Peter Richardson Chair of D2N2 LEP and Tramlink Nottingham

The Chair of the D2N2 Local Enterprise Partnership and of Tramlink Nottingham has received his OBE “for services to enterprise and growth in Nottingham”.

In November 2012 Peter was appointed Chair of the D2N2 LEP; the private sector-led partnership of business, local authorities, skills and training providers, and community and voluntary services providers which promotes economic and jobs growth across Derby, Derbyshire, Nottingham and Nottinghamshire. Since 2016 Peter has also been Chair of Tramlink Nottingham, the consortium behind Nottingham’s tram network.

Speaking after the Buckingham Palace ceremony on Friday (October 13th) where he was presented with the OBE from HM The Queen, Peter said: “I’m very flattered and humbled to have received this OBE. I’ve had a lot of support and help from people throughout my career, and something like this recognises their efforts as much as my own. I work with a lot of talented and committed people in my two Chair roles, across both Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire.”

A prominent East Midlands’ business figure, Peter has worked in the financial services sector for much of his career. He was Chief Executive Officer of Derbyshire Building Society until 2008.

He is a past Chair of Derbyshire Business Link and Derby Cityscape URC (Urban Regeneration Company), and also of the Derby Renaissance Board on which he still sits; and is a former member of the Governing Council of the University of Derby.

Peter also chaired the Championing Derbyshire Olympic Legacy 2012 Committee. He is a member of the Advisory Board of the Nottingham University Business School.

Peter currently runs a business consultancy.
