A team of Derby professionals are set to take on a mammoth 50 mile bike ride around Derbyshire to raise money for local charity Ashgate Hospice.
The team of five, including Guy Draper from Astute Recruitment, have named themselves ‘Team Dream’ and will take part in the Cycle Derby Sportive Spring Classic event, which takes place later this month (29 April).
Guy said: “It all started when I placed one of the team members in their current role – we got talking about the event and I decided to join the team.
“As part of a Derby-based business, I’m really proud to be supporting a charity that does so much for the local community. We’re hoping to raise as much money as possible, and Astute are kindly donating £250 towards this goal.”
Ashgate Hospice provides vital therapies and support services to patients and their families through its inpatient unit, day hospice and home care.
Guy said: “As a group we’ve got a mix of experience and fitness levels, some of the guys are cycling fanatics and others have only done one or two big routes like this one.
“I’m sure we’ll all support each other and keep the morale going between us. We’re still looking for any other local professionals that might want to join us.”
Sarah Stevenson, MD of Astute Recruitment said: “We’re so proud of Guy for taking on this challenge, raising money for such a fantastic cause.
“As a Derby business, we’re always looking for ways to give back to the community, and the money that Guy and the team raise will certainly help those in Derbyshire that need it the most.
“The whole Astute team is behind Guy, and we’ll be cheering him on later this month when the big day arrives.”
