Derby-based contract electronic manufacturer Tioga has merged with Telemisis, one of the UK’s leading providers of advanced remote monitoring, control and Internet of Things solutions, to form Tioga Group Limited.
The new group has been created as part of a strategic growth plan that will accelerate international expansion and entry into new markets.
Tioga Group Limited includes the businesses of Telemisis, Tioga, Audiotel International and a minority interest in SurePulse Medical, a joint venture with the University of Nottingham.
The new group employs over 150 people across the UK and already derives a substantial amount of its revenues from international sales.
Group managing director Professor Warwick Adams said: “As an established exporter, we know that Brexit will create new and exciting opportunities for international trade. At Tioga Group we are investing now in expanding our world-class manufacturing and product capabilities, to fully exploit these opportunities”.
As part of the merger, the co-founders of Telemisis, Tony Richardson and Chris Begent, will join the board of the new group.
Richardson said: “By leveraging our combined expertise in development, manufacturing, sales and marketing, we will accelerate the introduction of innovative new products, demanded by our customers”.
