Derby City Council has announced that the former Cattle Market on the West Meadows Industrial Estate has been purchased by Inchape, a national motor dealership firm.

Following a successful marketing campaign by Cushman and Wakefield, the Council’s Agent, which generated over a dozen offers for the site, Inchape, will now look to develop the site in the coming year as a prestigious car showroom.

Cllr Baggy Shanker, Cabinet Member for Finance and Governance said: “I’m delighted that we have been able to complete the sale of the former market to Inchape.

“The capital receipt generated from the sale of this site will support the Council’s capital programme a major element of which is the funding of the construction of a new swimming pool at Moorways”.
