Loughborough College has announced John Doherty as its new Chief Executive.
John joins the College today – 30 October 2017 – from ESPO, where he has been Managing Director for the past five years.
Before that, he held senior positions in both the public and private sectors.
“I see my new role as a privilege. I believe we have an open invitation, and indeed responsibility, to positively influence the aspirations and opportunities of a generation through our work here at Loughborough College.
“The College enjoys an excellent reputation and plays a significant role in education and training locally, in the region and nationally. We have so much to offer our communities and we’ll continue to work closely with partners in education, with employers, Government and others to ensure that Loughborough College fulfils its potential and that of our learners.
“I am sincerely excited to be joining and leading Loughborough College. It’s our skilled and dedicated staff who underpin our reputation and together we will build on its strengths for the future.”
Audrey Traynor, Loughborough College Chair of Governors, said: “The Board is thrilled John Doherty is joining us as our new Chief Executive. It is a testament to the College’s reputation that we are welcoming a candidate of John’s calibre.
“John brings with him a wealth of commercial experience and has teaching and learning at the heart of his vision to lead Loughborough College forward to deliver our ambitious 2020 strategy and beyond.”
